Start being a Freelancer in Tripoli

Montada Plus, Baddawi Coworking Space, in cooperation with AIT, Act community and AKTEF, launched “Start being a Freelancer” training program. The program was held at Baddawi Coworking Space in Tripoli and provided online via Zoom platform by Mr. Salah Ahmed (Expert trainer in entrepreneurship and teleworking field from Avatar Information Technology).

15 specialists in the area of graphic design, video editing, motion graphics, software development, web programming and mobile programming have been granted a full scholarship and participated in Start being Freelancer 40 hour training and counseling program.

At first, participants were trained for 24 hours on freelancing platforms such as Upwork, Freelancer, and PeoplePerHour and Mostaql. They were able to create professional accounts on the platforms and trained on how to get projects collect money online locally and internationally. Among other training topics, the trainer also trained the freelancers on how to build their personal brand and how to get jobs through social media.

The second phase of the program was about 16 hours of incubation, counseling and guidance to follow up on the training outcomes and ensure that the desired goals were reached.

 

This program comes as one of the main activities carried out by the Montada Plus within the economic empowerment program through teleworking. This initiative takes a development dimension as it aims to help and qualify young people to enter the field of self-employment to reduce unemployment rates that have increased due to the recent critical economic situation in Lebanon.
